New Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma: All You Need to Know 

The oath-taking ceremony of new Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma will take place today in the likely presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other eminent personalities like Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Ministers of other states. Just like BJP’s CM choices for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the decision to announce Sharma as Rajasthan’s Chief Minister came as a big surprise given that he was elected as MLA for the first time in this election. However, he holds a strong political portfolio, which influenced this decision.

Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has been elected from the eastern district of Bharatpur by a massive margin of 48,000 votes. Sharma also holds strong support from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is closely affiliated with the BJP. Despite the unexpected decision to make Sharma the Chief Minister, there will be only little resistance to his leadership within the party, especially given that former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has been passed over for the position.
