A months-old video of an American woman mistakenly tearing down Greek flags outside a New Jersey restaurant, thinking they were Israeli, has gone viral on social media. The incident took place at Efi’s Gyro in Montclair, where the woman, identified on TikTok as “Ambamelia,” was seen aggressively removing the blue-and-white flags while proclaiming, “Free Palestine, b ch!” and accusing the restaurant of supporting “genocide.” The situation took a comical turn when a staff member informed her that the flags were, in fact, Greek and not Israeli. Realizing her mistake, she apologized, asking if they wanted the flags back.

The restaurant owner, Efi Mihalis, confirmed that the incident occurred in March and was not staged. She reported the destruction of property to the police, with everyone at the restaurant shocked by the outburst. Although Greece and Israel have blue-and-white flags, the two are notably different in design. The video, which the woman only recently posted, has garnered millions of views across social media platforms, sparking a mix of amusement and outrage. The owner reiterated that the event was an unexpected and unplanned confusion. It remains unclear why the woman uploaded the video months after the incident.
