Neeraj Chopra, India’s star javelin thrower, showcased his determination and courage by participating in the Diamond League final in Brussels with a fractured left hand
Despite the injury, Neeraj Chopra finished second with a throw of 87.86m, just one centimeter behind the winner. Chopra revealed that he had sustained the hand injury during a training session earlier in the week. With the help of his team, he was able to participate in the competition, which was the last of the season. Although he couldn’t meet his expectations, Chopra feels that this season has been a learning experience for him. This season has been challenging for Chopra, who has been grappling with fitness issues. A persistent groin injury has hindered him from reaching the 90m mark, a goal he has been aiming for.
Chopra is said to get diagnosed with this injury. Despite the setbacks, Chopra remains positive and determined. Reflecting on his season, he said, “As the 2024 season ends, I look back on everything I’ve learned through the year—about improvement, setbacks, mentality, and more.” He expressed his gratitude for the encouragement he received and is now focused on returning fully fit and ready for 2025.
