Neeraj Chopra Bags Another Gold at Lausanne Diamond League

Neeraj Chopra continues his golden run after having displayed another laudable performance at the Lausanne Diamond League. The Olympic champion made a fantastic throw on his very first attempt which reached the distance of 87.66m. He was out of action since May due to an injury and missed out on major tournaments like FBK Games and Paavo Nurmi Games and had last competed in Doha Diamond League. Germany’s Julian Weber challenged him with a respectable throw of 86.20m, but Chopra rose to the challenge.

On his very first attempt, Neeraj Chopra overtook Weber by a big margin of nearly one –and-a-half metre by reaching 87.66m. His second attempt was rather mediocre, having reached 83.52m, which is below his average throws that makes him a world-class track and field athlete. After his victory, Neeraj Chopra confessed to being nervous on his comeback game, as per ESPN. He said, “I was feeling a bit nervous coming back from an injury. It was a bit cold here tonight. I am still far from my best, but I feel it is getting better. I am relieved it´s coming together well for me. A win is a win and I will take that happily.”
