Narayan Rane introduces a new platform for MSMEs in healthcare
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have highlighted the importance to boost India’s Micro, Small, Medium, Enterprises or MSMEs on numerous occasions, stating their importance in the growth of the Indian economy. Towards that direction, former Maharashtra CM and MSME minister Narayan Rane has now launched a new platform that will help all MSME entities present in the health sector called ‘India Health Dialogue’ or IHD. The ministry has called this platform is a partnership of the India Chamber of Business and Commerce, the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Indian Medical Association.
Rane further added that his ministry has “identified health as a target sector” and is thus promoting advanced manufacturing of medical equipment towards PM Modi’s vision of ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat.’ Nitin Pangotra, President and CEO of the India Chamber of Business and Commerce, noted at this event that IHD would provide key investment opportunities for state governments to increase manufacturing and business in their respective states. The healthcare sector has received a massive push from the post-pandemic budgets and was allocated $10.76 billion in this year’s Union Budget.
