Coromandel International Ltd inaugurates a state-of-the-art nano fertilizer Plant
Coromandel International Ltd’s marks it’s entry into the next generation of fertilizers, with significant potential to transform Indian agriculture
The plant was officially opened on Sunday by Executive Director (Nutrient Business) Sankarasubramanian S of Coromandel International, along with senior leadership and key channel partners nationwide. The fully automated facility boasts an annual production capacity of one crore bottles and employs energy-efficient technologies. It can scale up to produce a range of nano fertilizers in addition to the current Nano Dia Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Nano Urea products.
These innovative fertilizers, developed through company’s in-house R&D center at the IIT Bombay-Monash Research Academy, ensure optimal nutrient delivery and plant absorption. Marketed under the ‘Gromor Nano’ brand, Coromandel’s nano fertilizers have undergone extensive field trials to demonstrate their effectiveness. Additionally, the company has established a Nano Technology Centre in Coimbatore dedicated to advancing nano applications in agriculture. Coromandel’s Kakinada unit also includes an annual production capacity of 2 million tons of conventional fertilizers, serving the farming community across India.
