Mumbai Trans Harbour Link to be Inaugurated on Jan 12 by PM Modi
After a long wait, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link is finally ready for public use as Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar have officially announced its inauguration date as January 12, 2024. They have invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lead the inauguration ceremony of this road. The extreme anticipation around this ceremony stems from the massive impact it will create on the city’s interconnectivity and logistics supply chains.
CM Shinde has stated that this project will pave the way for the economic growth and development of the region. Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will be a huge time saver for regular commuters, who have to travel 2 hours (one way) and end up spending twice as much time on a daily basis. However, this road will reduce this travel time to 40-50 minutes with only 20 minutes one-way travel duration. It will also be connected to the Mumbai-Pune expressway for better inter-city connectivity. Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will be Bharat’s longest sea bridge at 21.8 kilometres.
