Modi 3.0: PM Narendra Modi to Take Oath on June 8

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take the oath for his third term on the evening of June 8, following the NDA’s majority win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The new Union Cabinet will also be sworn in on the same day. The Union Cabinet has recommended the dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha, setting the stage for the new government. The 2024 election results were surprising as the Opposition INDIA alliance exceeded expectations based on exit polls, preventing the BJP from achieving a clear majority of over 300 seats. Today, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is scheduled to meet in Delhi, chaired by PM Modi. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will attend, along with representatives from other NDA allies. The Janata Dal (United), led by Kumar, and the BJP each secured 12 seats in Bihar.

Chirag Paswan, chief of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), confirmed his party’s participation and support for the NDA, emphasizing that PM Modi’s third term will advance the country’s development. In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party won 16 and 2 seats respectively, while the BJP secured 3 seats. The YSR Congress’s presence was significantly reduced, winning only 4 seats compared to their previous 22. In the state elections, the TDP won 135 seats, and Jana Sena obtained 21 out of 175. The NDA’s new term under PM Modi is anticipated to bring new heights of development and fulfill promises made during the campaign.
