Maoist attack in Dantewada claims the lives of 10 policemen and one civilian

Days after terrorists attacked and killed 5 Rashtriya Rifles jawans in Poonch, news of another terrorist attack has emerged, this time from the state of Chhattisgarh. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast has killed ten policemen and one civilian in Dantewada, as per ANI. The IED reportedly hit the vehicle that took the lives of policemen and a driver that was on board. Naxals are said to be responsible for this attack.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed his deepest condolences to all the martyrs and sent out a stern warning for the Naxals. He said that the fight against Naxalism is on its “last stage” and that they “won’t be spared”. However, no other details surrounding this attack have been revealed yet for public knowledge. This news comes less than a week after the Poonch attack, where terrorists used grenades to attack the Rashtriya Rifles convoy and escaped into the surrounding forest areas. Officials from National Security Guard (NSG) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) have visited the attack area, and a massive search operation to catch the terrorists are currently underway.
