Manipur Violence to End as Communities Hold Rounds of Talks?

The Manipur violence has brought the Indian Parliament to a standstill even as the nation watches the disturbing visuals emerging from the state. After nearly three long months of violence and extreme law and order measures, it appears that the state is inching closer to normalcy as the leaders of communities in conflict – Meteis and Kukis, are engaging in dialogues. The leadership of the two communities have reportedly held six rounds of dialogues already, as per ANI. This has brought a silver lining for the people of the state, who have been living under restricted conditions ever since the clashes began.

The Centre is actively engaging with these communities while also deploying enough security forces to keep the situation contained until all the parties concerned reach an agreeable solution. The recent video showing the shocking incident of two female victims sent shockwaves across the country, and it further prompted the government to crack down on the perpetrators. Meanwhile, the Opposition has continued to protest in the Parliament over this incident ever since the Monsoon Session began a few days ago. Further developments on this matter are expected soon.
