Kota Factory 3 returns with a bang: Outperforms its predecessor
Jitendra Kumar returns as Jeetu Bhaiya in the third season of “Kota Factory.”
This time in Kota Factory, Jeetu is grappling with the emotional aftermath of a former student’s suicide and is seeking therapy. Like its predecessors, the series is presented in black and white and consists of five episodes. Set in Kota, Rajasthan, known for its educational coaching centres, the new season delves into Jeetu Bhaiya’s internal struggle. He feels responsible for his student’s death, and his therapist advises him to maintain a professional distance from his students. Despite this, Jeetu records a podcast addressing educational policy issues, highlighting his difficulty in detaching from the students he cares for deeply. The bond between students Vaibhav, Uday, and Meena strengthens as they near their IIT goals. Vaibhav grows increasingly frustrated with the long wait for success, while Uday provides comic relief in the otherwise tense environment. Meena, portrayed by Ranjan Raj, delivers a standout performance, emphasizing the financial struggles alongside academic pressures.
New characters include Pooja Ma’am (Tillotama Shome), a chemistry teacher who initially dislikes Kota but eventually adapts. Her character adds depth and showcases Shome’s talent, known from her roles in “Angrezi Medium,” “Manto,” and “Lust Stories.” Other notable performances come from Revathi Pillai, Ahsaas Channa, Alam Khan, and Mayur More. Jeetu Bhaiya’s therapy sessions offer insight into educators’ mental health challenges, reinforcing the show’s realistic portrayal of the academic world. His practical problem-solving and empathetic nature continue to inspire his students. Created by Saurabh Khanna, directed by Raghav Subbu, and produced by Arunabh Kumar for The Viral Fever, the series remains a poignant and relevant watch for today’s youth. Following its success on Netflix, which released the second season in 2021, this season continues to capture the struggles and triumphs of students in Kota
