Kannada Star Darshan Thoogudeepa Detained in connected with the Renukaswamy murder case
On June 11, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was detained by Bangalore police in Mysuru in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, according to HT Kannada
Darshan Thoogudeepa, a prominent South Indian actor, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the case and is being transported to Bangalore. Renukaswamy was reportedly murdered for making derogatory social media posts about Pavitra Gowda, a close friend of Darshan. His body was found near Sumannahalli Bridge in Bengaluru, prompting a police investigation. Ten people have been arrested; further details are expected in an upcoming police press conference. Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, was allegedly tortured and murdered near Darshan’s Mysuru farmhouse before his body was dumped in a drain in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, two months ago.
The police recovered his body on June 9. During the investigation, three suspects admitted to killing Renukaswamy over financial disputes, as reported by Indian Express. Darshan Thoogudeepa, born February 16, 1977, is a well-known actor, producer, and distributor in the Kannada film industry. He is famous for movies such as “Anatharu” and “Krantiveera Sangolly Rayanna.” In 2006, he established his production house, Thoogudeepa Productions, which debuted with the film “Jothe Jotheyalu,” featuring a special appearance by Darshan. He has won several awards, including the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his role in “Krantiveera Sangolly Rayanna.” Following Darshan’s arrest, police have been stationed at his residence in Bengaluru to maintain order. The case has garnered significant media attention, highlighting the actor’s connection to the alleged crime and the ongoing investigation.
