Is Work From Home Responsible for Rising Health Concerns?

The ‘Work From Home’ culture is rightfully being embraced in the post-pandemic world as companies around the world observed the benefits of home-based work models. Employees have also expectedly welcomed this culture as they save time, effort and travel expenses of going to the office and working in the comfort of their own homes. But the negative side effects of ‘work from home’ have also started appearing in people’s health as problems like cholesterol and high blood pressure. Since their body does not get any form of exercise throughout the day, these problems have seen a sharp rise.

However, Mayo Clinic has revealed multiple signs to watch out for that indicate high blood pressure and cholesterol. Frequently occurring bouts of pain in the chest is the most obvious indicator of this problem. Another sign is experiencing numbness in hands and feet, which takes place due to reduced blood flow. It can also be marked by the change in colour of your veins. Skin rashes, worsening condition of your nails and yellow spots around your eyes are other indicators to watch out for, and you must seek out medical help as soon as you notice such signs.
