Is Twitter Suing Threads?
The speculations of Twitter suing Threads have recently started surfacing, which has sent the tech world into a frenzy. Meta’s decision to launch Threads has virtually unsettled Twitter, which has levied major allegations against Facebook, Instagram and Threads parent company. The news of Twitter suing Threads is not official yet, but Twitter’s lawyer has threatened to file a lawsuit against their rival. Alex Spiro, who legally represents Twitter, has stated that Threads has access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other confidential information and that the latter will fight for its intellectual property rights.
As per Spiro’s claim, Meta has hired former Threads employees who still have access to Twitter’s trade secrets and are using them for their own interests. He said, “Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights and demands that Meta take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information,” as per Semafor. The threat of Twitter suing Threads will make a major impact in the tech industry, as the two giants come face to face in a legal battle that may end up stifling Threads’ growth. Meta is yet to respond to Twitter’s allegations.
