Gajendra Yadav experienced a shocking ordeal when he discovered live worms in a carton of Amul high-protein buttermilk he had purchased online. Expressing his frustration on X (formerly Twitter), Yadav shared photos and videos of white worms crawling on the carton and spilling buttermilk. He expressed dissatisfaction: “I have always trusted @Amul_Coop for its commitment to quality, which is why this incident is particularly troubling.” Yadav criticized the dairy giant for compromising their production and packaging processes and urged others to stop buying products from Amul’s website. Yadav detailed that many packets were opened or torn, and the buttermilk was spoiled with a foul smell. He demanded Amul take immediate action and collect the evidence for testing to avoid any false accusations later.

In an update, Yadav mentioned that Amul apologized for the incident and sent someone from their Kanpur office to address the issue, promising a refund. While Amul offered to replace the product, Yadav declined and was asked to dispose of the infested boxes. Yadav questioned the 10-day delivery time, asking why such delays occurred and who would be responsible if a customer fell ill due to negligence. He later received a call from Amul’s Gujarat Head Office, where they expressed regret for the incident and attributed the problem to logistical delays. They assured Yadav that they were taking the matter seriously and would ensure quicker delivery times in the future. The post quickly went viral, garnering nearly five lakh views and numerous comments from concerned users. One user noted the general risk of subscribing to packaged dairy products by mail, while another expressed alarm after recently consuming Amul buttermilk. Despite Yadav’s unfortunate experience, other users mentioned not facing similar issues but remained cautious about potential impacts on Amul’s products.
