Initial List of 195 candidates exhibited by BJP for Lok Sabha Elections 2024
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its initial list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, replacing 33 sitting MPs with fresh contenders. Among the notable changes, Praveen Khandelwal will now represent Chandani Chowk in Delhi, succeeding former Union Minister Harsh Vardhan. Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, has been nominated for the New Delhi constituency, replacing Meenakshi Lekhi. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri will contest from South Delhi instead of Ramesh Bidhuri. At the same time, Kamaljeet Sehrawat will replace Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in West Delhi.
BJP in Madhya Pradesh: seven sitting MPs have been substituted, including Bharat Singh Kushwaha taking over Gwalior from Vivek Narayan Shejwalker. Jyotiraditya Scindia will contest from Guna, Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Vidisha, and Alok Sharma from Bhopal, among others. In Assam, 11 seats see a mix of new and current MPs, with Parimal Suklabaidhya nominated for Silchar and Amar Singh Tisso, Bijuli Kalita Medhi, and Ranjit Dutta contesting from other constituencies. Chhattisgarh witnesses four new candidates among its 11 seats, including Brijmohan Agrawal in Raipur and Roop Kumari Choudhary in Mahasamund.
BJP in Gujarat sees changes in five out of its 15 seats, with Mansukh Mandaviya contesting from Porbandar and Parshottam Rupala from Rajkot, among others. BJP In Jharkhand, Manish Jaiswal and Samir Oraon emerge as new faces, replacing Jayant Sinha in Hazaribagh and Sudarshan Bhagat in Lohardaga, respectively.
