Indian Economic Growth May Reach 9%: G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant
There have been growing discussions on the Indian economic growth around the world in the last few years, as we remain the fastest growing large economy on earth. While the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other financial institutions had predicted Bharat to grow around 6.3 to 6.5 percent growth in 2023-2024, we have recorded well over 7 percent growth in the previous two quarters against all predictions. But Bharat’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant believes that the best of Indian economic growth is yet to come.
Kant, who formerly served as the CEO of NITI Aayog before receiving the G20 Sherpa title, told Republic that the growth trajectory is set to climb up to 9 percent in the coming years. He cited the 700 welfare schemes that have been launched by the government for the upskilling of people and the creation of more job opportunities by boosting the business and manufacturing sectors. Should this prediction come true, Indian economic growth will efficiently lead Bharat to become one of the top three economies of the world in the next few years, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
