Indian Capital well-armored ahead of the celebrations of 78th Indian Independence!
Over 3000 Traffic Officers, 10,000+ Police personnel, and 700+ AI-based facial Recognition cameras have been deployed by the Delhi Police across the National Capital.
Security measures have been heightened in Delhi and Punjab ahead of Independence Day, with intelligence agencies on high alert due to reports of a potential terrorist attack. Over 10,000 security personnel will be deployed at the Red Fort, and additional police teams and paramilitary forces will be stationed at critical locations. The threat of a fidayeen attack by a terrorist group active in Jammu has prompted increased security measures. Intelligence agencies have reported the movement of unidentified persons with weaponry in a village bordering Kathua in J&K, and the possibility of them heading towards Pathankot cannot be ruled out.
Snipers will also play a critical role in the security arrangements following a recent assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. The area around the Red Fort will be designated as a “no kite flying zone” until the event concludes, and personnel will be equipped to intercept any kites. Additionally, sub-conventional aerial platforms such as paragliders, hang-gliders, and hot air balloons have been banned from August 2-16 for security reasons. This year’s Independence Day theme, “Viksit Bharat,” highlights the government’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. With the increased security measures, the authorities are taking no chances to ensure a safe and successful celebration.
