India vs Srilanka T20 & ODI series lined up for late July and early August

The BCCI has announced the schedule for India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2024, featuring three T20Is and three ODIs

The T20I matches will be held on July 26, 27, and 29 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, and the ODI matches will take place on August 1, 4, and 7 at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.T20I Matches: July 26 – Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. July 27 – Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. July 29 – Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. ODI Matches: August 1 – R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. August 4 – R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. August 7 – R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. Both teams will debut new head coaches during this tour: Gautam Gambhir for India and Sanath Jayasuriya as the interim head coach for Sri Lanka.

Following Rohit Sharma’s retirement from T20Is, Hardik Pandya is expected to lead the Indian T20I team, while KL Rahul is set to captain the ODI team. This tour comes after India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign, where they defeated South Africa in the final. Currently, India is touring Zimbabwe with a new-look team led by Shubman Gill and coached by VVS Laxman. India leads the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe 2-1. On the other hand, Sri Lanka had a disappointing T20 World Cup run, finishing third in Group D. They will be looking to rebound under new leadership during the upcoming series against India.
