India Squad for Asia Cup Announced; KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer Return

The team India squad for Asia Cup 2023 has been announced by Head Selector Ajit Agarkar, captain Rohit Sharma, and coach Rahul Dravid. The team management has brought back KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, which may have come as an unexpected move for a few. While Iyer has been relatively consistent with the bat, KL Rahul has remained out of form for a brief period of time. Nevertheless, the selectors have reposed their faith in him once again ahead of the crucial World Cup.

The in-form Tilak Verma has been deservingly given a spot in the India squad for Asia Cup. He has been exceptional in the middle order and has given stellar performances on the West Indies tour. He may prove to be a game-changer in the middle order thanks to his aggressive batting temperament and comfort playing with the lower order. Team India will soon head to the Asia Cup before taking entering the race for the World Cup, which will take place in India this year between October – November.
