In a soon to be Held PM Modi’s Oath Ceremony, Numerous dignitaries to participate
As suspense continues over the cabinet portfolios in Modi’s third term, several Lok Sabha MPs are likely to join the Modi 3.0 cabinet
Including BJP leaders Nirmala Sitharaman, Amit Shah, ML Khattar, HD Kumaraswamy, Ramdas Athawale, and Jayant Chaudhary. Ahead of the ceremony, PM-designate Narendra Modi addressed National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders at his residence in New Delhi. Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 7:15 PM on Sunday, June 9, making him the first person since Jawaharlal Nehru elected Prime Minister for three consecutive terms. Alongside Modi, his council of ministers members will also take their oaths. The ceremony will be administered by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Due to the number of dignitaries expected, security around Rashtrapati Bhawan and the national capital has been heightened.
Reports indicate that only thirty ministers will initially take the oath, with the council expected to include 78 to 81 leaders. With the BJP falling short of a majority on its own, there is a likelihood of more leaders from allied parties, such as Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United, being included in the council compared to the previous term. Several international leaders are attending the ceremony, including Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives’ President Mohamed Muizzu, Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Seychelles’ Vice-President Ahmed Afif, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, and Mauritius’ Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth. Security has been intensified in Delhi, with Rashtrapati Bhawan under three-tier security until June 11, and the Delhi-NCT area declared a no-fly zone to prevent drone usage.
