Imran Khan calls on citizens to ‘Get Ready’ for elections, warns for Pak Govt.
Pakistan has been going through a deep political uncertainty ever since former PM Imran Khan’s government was dissolved in their National Assembly. The Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader has held several rallies across the country demanding for elections to take place as early as possible, even as he fights criminal allegations against him in the Pakistani courts. In the latest development, Khan has urged the people to prepare for elections.
Current PM Shehbaaz Sharif and his government have been facing several attacks by Imran Khan ever since their takeover, but they have firmly stood their ground. In his most recent attack, Imran Khan has warned Sharif of ‘consequences’ if the elections are not held in May as per the directions of the Supreme Court, who supported the provision of holding elections 90 days after the dissolution of the assembly. This statement came as a response to Sharif’s government unanimously rejecting this order and deciding to present a resolution against this verdict in the parliament. Furthermore, Imran Khan has also declared that his party PTI will oppose any attempts to interfere with this democratic process.
The former PM was recently summoned in the courts for Tosha Khana case, where he arrived with tight security hold a black bullet-proof box on his face for protection. More development on this case are expected to arrive soon.
