Humanly Interactive-Advancements to be seen with the Google Home and Nest Devices
Google has announced several updates to its Google Home and Nest devices, including new Assistant voices and Gemini-powered improvements. The company’s AI technology, Gemini, will analyze Nest camera feeds, giving more detailed descriptions of what’s happening in the scene. For example, instead of detecting motion, the camera can identify specific actions like “the dog is digging in the garden .”This new capability will make the Google Home app camera clips more functional and allow for more specific searches. Users can ask questions like “Did the kids leave their bikes in the driveway?” and receive relevant results.
Gemini will also simplify the process of creating automation for smart home devices, allowing users to describe what they want in plain language and have the system set up for them. Later this year, Google Assistant on Nest speakers and displays will be improved with new voices and more natural language understanding. The Assistant will be able to comprehend follow-up questions better and engage in more natural conversations. These updates are part of Google’s effort to make its smart home devices more intuitive and helpful for users.
