How Processed Food Triggers Risk of Depression
It is common knowledge that processed food can critically damage your physical health, but most people don’t know yet about just how much damage it can have on your mental health. A recent health study has concluded that having over 30 per cent of ultra-processed food can significantly increase your chances of slipping into depression, as per PTI. This research has yielded tangible evidence that shows that many people opt for cheap and processed food items that contain ingredients that make a direct impact on your mental health along with physical health.
Another obvious but major aspect of depression linked with processed food is its role in ruining your shape and cardiovascular health. Since it is the cheaper option and saves time and effort, unlike cooking, many youngsters have made processed food a part of their daily diet. They tend to consume it in higher quantities, thereby consuming more calories of saturated fat and sugar. Not only are they likely to be in bad shape, but they are also at risk of other major diseases like diabetes and stroke. It is thus a matter of public interest to dissuade people from consuming processed food items as much as possible.
