How Cravings for Ice Cubes Can be a Bad Sign
Several people have unusual cravings for ice cubes, which may come off as an amusing fact to the rest. While this may be only looked at as a weird habit by many, there is a good chance that it may be a sign of serious health issues that need immediate medical help. Dr Rajeev Rajesh, Chief Yoga Officer, Jindal Naturecure Institute, Bangalore, says, “A shortage of healthy red blood cells or haemoglobin characterizes anaemia, which is frequently brought on by a lack of iron, vitamin B12, or folic acid,” as per Money Control.
This means that cravings for ice cubes may be a sign of an extreme iron deficiency and must be treated without delay. This condition, which is referred to as anaemia in medical terms, may very well be passed on by a parent who has a similar medical condition. In such circumstances, one must visit the doctor and get all the blood tests done to ascertain the exact nature of the condition and the best possible treatment to treat it. Doctors usually advise patients suffering from this condition to consume iron-rich foods and/or prescribe various iron supplements to them.
