Harman, Exasperated by the Counterfeits of JBL sold in India; takes legal action
HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, is intensifying efforts to combat counterfeit JBL products in India. Taking a decisive stance against the production and sale of fake goods, the company has initiated legal proceedings against manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and dealers involved in the unauthorized trade of JBL products.
In a recent operation conducted in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, HARMAN’s investigative team confiscated counterfeit JBL car speakers from multiple car accessories shops spread across five locations in Kashmiri Gate, New Delhi. A total of 54 counterfeit JBL speakers were seized during the operation.
Vikram Kher, Vice President of Lifestyle at HARMAN India, reiterated the company’s unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality products. HARMAN remains steadfast in its resolve to tackle any threats posed to this commitment by swiftly and firmly addressing unlawful sales.
HARMAN also guides consumers on identifying counterfeit JBL products:
- Always avoid dramatic prices: ingenuine JBL products are sold at a lower price.
- Inconsistent Cosmetic Details: Fake products may exhibit inconsistencies in appearance compared to genuine JBL items.
- Check Packaging and Logo: Genuine JBL products feature high-quality packaging with accurate logo placement and colors.
- Notice Product Quality: Counterfeit items may feel lighter, emit a chemical odor, or exhibit signs of poor craftsmanship.
- Research Sellers: Verify the reputation of the seller and seek out authorized retailer certificates.
Commenting on these measures, Vikram Kher emphasized the company’s rigorous pursuit of legal action against individuals involved in the sale of counterfeit products. He stressed the importance of consumers remaining vigilant and purchasing JBL products exclusively from authorized retailers. HARMAN vows to continue its investigations to curb the proliferation of counterfeit products across India.
