GT vs RR: Samson and Hetmeyer’s fiery chase keeps Rajasthan on the top
GT vs RR Rajasthan Royals seem to be in great form this season as they remain on top of the points table. They clashed with Gujarat Titans last match at the latter’s home ground in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Gujarat batted first, where Shubhman Gill continued his strong form and scored 46 runs with 4 fours and 1 six with a decent strike rate of 132. Their middle order kept the scoreboard ticking, with David Miller putting up a respectable 46 off 30 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, and their efforts brought their score to 177 runs in 20 overs.
Nerves were high for Rajasthan as both their openers got dismissed early. However, skipper Sanju Samson stood strong and was soon joined by the in-form Shimron Hetmeyer. Although Samson smashed a magnificent 60 runs with 3 fours and 6 sixes, he couldn’t carry his team through and was caught by Miller. However, Hetmeyer kept his cool and took Rajasthan to the finishing line with a laudable 56 runs off 26 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. His terrific performance earned him the ‘player of the match award.
The next match will be played between Royal Challengers Banglore and Chennai Super Kings in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Banglore.
