Why is Apple Stores’ opening in India so important?
There has been much hype around the grand opening of two Apple Stores in India – one in our nation’s financial capital Mumbai, and the second one in the political capital New Delhi. Its significance has shot up even further after Apple CEO Tim Cook arrived in India himself to inaugurate these stores, which has left many wondering why this event is so important. One of the core reasons for it is because is that this is Cook’s first visit to India since 2016. Since then, India has become one of the biggest iPhone manufacturers in the world.
Another major factor behind this hype is that Cook is likely to meet some of the top political leaders from the government. The Government of India has frequently been inviting top companies of the world to scale up their manufacturing in India to generate jobs and improve trade. Many experts believe that Cook’s arrival will likely bring a major announcement in Apple’s operations in this country. While Mumbai’s Apple Store is set to be inaugurated today, Delhi’s store will be officially opened on April 20.
