Based on previous demonstrations Google had to resolve it: Revamps it’s search engine

Google is revamping its search engine, heavily integrating AI into nearly every aspect of the search process

This overhaul includes the introduction of “AI Overviews,” part of the Search Generative Experience (SGE), which will provide AI-generated summaries at the top of search results. These summaries are designed to give users a general sense of answers to their queries, along with links to additional resources. Liz Reid, Google’s head of Search, explains that the goal of using generative AI is to simplify the search process. The AI can handle much of the searching, allowing users to focus on the parts of the process they find most important or exciting.

Google’s new Gemini AI is central to this transformation. Gemini can understand user queries, whether typed, spoken, or captured via photo or video, and summarize web content to provide concise answers. It also helps design and populate the search results page. However, Reid notes that not every search will utilize this level of AI, especially for straightforward tasks like navigating to a specific URL. The changes aim to enhance user experience, particularly for complex searches that previously required multiple queries. This comprehensive AI integration represents a significant shift in how Google approaches search, leveraging advanced technology to streamline and enrich the process.
