Gautam Adani meets Sharad Pawar over Hindenburg row
India’s stock market took a sharp dive after Hindenburg released a report targeting the Adani Group with various allegations, which brought a major loss to the conglomerate. Quite recently, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar came to Adani’s defence by saying that people and media must be wary of any false information peddled around this matter. In an unexpected move, Adani has now held a meeting with the senior politician at the latter’s residence in Mumbai, as per PTI.
Adani Group was accused of various allegations by the Hindenburg report, including fraudulent transactions and stock manipulation, which caused the group’s share prices to fall. Several opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi had targeted the Modi government by claiming their involvement in this alleged scam. However, Sharad Pawar is the only major name from the opposition who defended Gautam Adani amid all these attacks. This has visibly prompted Adani to reach out to Pawar in this case, but the agenda of this discussion has not been disclosed yet. Adani Group has taken up strong legal action against the report by dismissing all allegations against them and is now looking to make a recovery from this major setback.
