‘Gadar 2’ Becomes Sunny Deol’s Biggest Commercial Hit

Gadar 2 has been welcomed by the audience with open arms as Sunny Deol returned on the big screen in his iconic ‘Tara Singh’ avatar. In less than a week, the film has amassed Rs 134.88 crores in India and has officially been declared as one of the biggest Bollywood hits this year so far. Gadar 2 has thus become Sunny Deol’s biggest commercial hit in the history of his memorable career in films, as per India Box Office. The actor also has several other commercial hits to his name.

Interestingly, the first installment of this film series, titled Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is right below Gadar 2 in this list. The film earned nearly Rs 77 crores back in 2001, which was a blockbuster performance in those days. Tara Singh’s famous dialogue “Hindustan zinda tha, zinda hai aur zinda rahega!” is still very much a part of Bollywood’s popular culture. Its sequel continues the journey of Tara Singh as he crosses the border yet again to save his son ‘Jeete’, who has been captured by the Pakistani army and tortured by them.
