Extended Compatibility and Support for Google users
Great news for Google Workspace subscribers! Google is expanding its Chat app to integrate with other platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams; you can now message users on these platforms without the hassle of switching between apps. However, there’s a catch: this feature is exclusively available to paying subscribers, and while it’s not entirely new, it’s now officially out of beta. Previously, only a select few had access, but now it’s open to all paying users.
To take advantage of this Google’s integration, you’ll need to do some setup. You’ll have to download and configure an additional app called Mio, which bridges Google Chats and Slack/Teams. Mio requires an additional license, but the good news is that it supports all features like tagging, file sharing, GIFs, etc., and works seamlessly across different messaging platforms. Mio also ensures smooth communication between Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365.
