Dravid presented an emotional Speech post T20 WC victory at Barbados
India’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid delivered an emotional farewell speech inside the dressing room following the team’s T20 World Cup victory over South Africa at Barbados’ Kensington Oval
Concluding his tenure on a triumphant note, Dravid, who had taken over as head coach in November 2021, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the team and staff for creating unforgettable memories together. Dravid’s speech came after India’s win, which marked his first ICC trophy as a coach, despite having never secured one during his illustrious playing career. His term also saw India as runners-up in the 2023 World Test Championship and the 2023 ODI World Cup at home.
Acknowledging past disappointments and the sacrifices made by the team and their families, Dravid added, “There have been a few disappointments over the years where we have come close, but we have not been able to cross the line. But what this bunch of boys has done, everyone in the support staff has done. The whole country is proud of every one of you for what you have achieved. “Dravid also expressed gratitude towards skipper Rohit Sharma, crediting him for the decision to continue as coach after India’s ODI World Cup final loss to Australia. Dravid remarked, reflecting on their partnership and shared journey.
