Deadpool & Wolverine could live up to the bang-for-a-buck tagline!
The much-anticipated movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, continues to perform well at the Indian box office
On its fifth day of release, July 30, the film garnered an estimated ₹6.25 crore net in India. This movie, a collaboration between 20th Century Fox and Marvel, is part of the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Since its release on July 26, the movie has earned approximately ₹78.95 crore net in India. The film’s opening day saw a substantial collection of ₹21.5 crore. The “Deadpool & Wolverine” box office performance reflects a strong following for the established characters, Deadpool & Wolverine , played by Jackman and Reynolds, respectively. Regarding occupancy rates, the film maintained decent numbers across various screening formats on July 30. English 3D shows had an overall occupancy of 13.55%, with specific time slots showing varied attendance: 8.16% for morning shows, 13.06% for both afternoon and evening shows, and 19.93% for night shows. Hindi 3D shows experienced a slightly lower overall occupancy at 12.66%, with morning shows at 8.22%, afternoon shows at 14.91%, evening shows at 11.78%, and night shows at 15.74%.
For 2D screenings, the occupancy was higher for English shows at 16.88% and lower for Hindi shows at 10.50%. Other language screenings included Tamil 3D shows, with 17.71% occupancy, and Telugu shows, with 10.19% on the same day. Internationally, “Deadpool & Wolverine” is also achieving impressive results. It set a new record for Thursday preview sales for an R-rated movie in America, selling an estimated $38.5 million worth of tickets. This success is a positive sign for Marvel, seeking to regain its strong box office performance following the peak of “Avengers: Endgame.” Recent releases, such as “The Marvels,” which opened with $47 million, have not met expectations, marking a period of underperformance for the franchise. The consistent box office figures of “Deadpool & Wolverine” suggest a potential revival of interest in Marvel films, especially with the star power of Jackman and Reynolds. As the movie continues to draw audiences, it may signal a turning point for Marvel’s box office fortunes.
