Days Before Chandrayaan-3 Landing, ISRO Shares New Images
As the nation waits for Chandrayaan-3 landing with held breath, Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO has shared new images of the moon that the satellite has captured from the orbital position. They posted the images on their social media handles with the message, “Here are the images of the Lunar far side area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC). This camera that assists in locating a safe landing area — without boulders or deep trenches — during the descent is developed by ISRO at SAC.”
The pictures show the unexplored region of the moon with the camera that will ultimately help in the Chandrayaan-3 landing. The world is looking at ISRO to come through with this mission with absolute success, as it will take human research on the moon to new heights. ISRO is aiming to study the southern pole of the moon with various objectives, including finding ice water in the region and whether it can be used for human needs. The Chandrayaan-3 landing is scheduled to take place on August 23.
