CSK vs RCB : Devon Conway roars as Chennai beat Banglore by just 8 runs
CSK vs RCB : IPL fans enjoyed yet another treat last night ccc Chennai batted first and raced towards a hundred in the first ten overs itself, with Devon Conway leading the charge. He smashed a sublime 83 runs off 45 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes and was supported well by Ajinkya Rahane, who scored a decent 37 off 20. That was followed by another great knock by Shivam Dube (52 runs with 2 fours and 5 sixes), which steered CSK to a massive 226 runs.
In the second innings, Akash Singh got a critical breakthrough after dismissing Virat Kohli early, followed soon by Mahipal Lomror (dismissed by Tushar Despande). However, skipper Faf du Plessis and Glen Maxwell got into a long partnership and put up well above a100 runs together. While du Plessis scored 62 runs in 33 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes, Maxwell hit a massive 76 runs in only 36 balls with 3 fours and 8 sixes. They both were eventually dismissed in quick successions, which put CSK back in the game.
The pressure started to mount on the new batsmen despite their best efforts. Tushar Deshpande and Matheesha Pathirana choked their middle and lower order, and CSK finally emerged on the top with just 8 runs. Conway was given ‘player of the match’ award for his huge effort. The next match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
