Covid cases in India cross the 10,000-mark  

Covid cases in India : Citizens all over the country are taking guard amidst the swiftly rising Covid-19 cases. The Covid cases in India have taken a big jump in the last 24 hours, with 10 158 fresh new cases recorded in the time period. With this figure, the number of active cases has gone up to 44,998. Maharashtra and Delhi continue to hold a significant share of the overall cases in the country. Maharashtra recorded 1,115 cases and nine deaths, of which five occurred in the Mumbai region.  

Delhi also saw a surge in Covid cases which added up to 1,149. However, the death rate in the national capital remains low, with one death reported on Wednesday. PTI has reported a relieving update that says the growth in cases will continue for up to 10-12 days (about 1 week 5 days), after which the situation is likely to survive. The report also adds that this virus is moving towards its endemic stage worldwide. Regardless, the Union Health Ministry continues to take measures and monitor the situation as it escalates.
