Countdown to Chandrayaan-3 Launch Begins
All eyes are on the Indian Research Space Organisation (ISRO) as they prepare to launch Chandrayaan-3 towards the moon. After an unsuccessful previous attempt in 2019, ISRO has prepared the third version of this space shuttle to land safely at the southern pole of the moon. This region of the moon hasn’t been properly explored yet by any space organisation in the world, and ISRO is determined to explore and study every aspect of this lunar region, which will open the doors to new research and possibilities in space for the entire world.
In 2019, Chandrayaan-2 conducted a successful launch but failed to make a stable landing, which prevented ISRO from establishing contact with it. The reason behind the crucial importance of the moon’s southern part is the extremely cold weather conditions in the region, which have created a massive formation of ice. This ice can be used not only as drinking water but also as a fuel source and to support natural ecosystems. Chandrayaan-3 will be launched using the LVM3 launcher from Sriharikota on July 14.
