Congress Accuses AAP Govt of Corruption in Agriculture
Congress has levied major accusations on Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP govt in Delhi just a day after supporting them in Parliament on the Delhi Services Bill voting. Delhi Congress’ President Anil Kumar Chaudhary has accused the Aam Aadmi Party of hiking up agricultural land prices, as per ANI. “While Rs 5 crore will be the rate per acre in the Central District, Rs 2.25 crore will be the rate per acre in the East District, which is very unequal. When Congress revised the circle rate in 2008, the per acre rate was Rs 53 lakh for farmlands and Rs 17 lakh per acre for river plains,” he said.
These political remarks indicate that the two parties are not likely to form an alliance in the Delhi government. However, Congress has parallelly joined hands with the AAP govt in their I.N.D.I.A. alliance wherein all opposition leaders have joined hands to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections next year. In the ongoing Monsoon Parliament session, Congress backed the AAP govt as they protested the passing of the Delhi Services Bill. While they continue to support each other in opposing the BJP, it is unlikely that they will come to a sustainable political understanding.
