Confirmed: Ranveer Singh Replaces SRK as ‘Don’

Several reports suggesting that Ranveer Singh will replace Shahrukh Khan in Don 3 have been doing rounds for a while now. These rumours have now been confirmed by a PinkVilla report which states that Khan is officially opted out of the film series. The stated reason behind his exit was that he is currently pursuing projects that are targeted at a wider audience, and hence he was replaced by Ranveer Singh. While the actor himself hasn’t confirmed the news yet, a source close to the project has revealed this major update to the publication.

Ranveer Singh is currently promoting his upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in which he stars opposite Alia Bhatt. The source has added that the official announcement of Ranveer being cast in Don 3 will likely be made in August, depending on the performance of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. They will be aiming to capitalise on the success of this film and use the occasion to make the announcement. Shahrukh Khan, on the other hand, is currently working on his upcoming film Jawan, which is due to be released later this year in September.
