Cities with the most affordable housing in India

Real estate prices in India have taken a massive jump over the decades due to rapid growth in population and urban migration. It has become nearly impossible to find fairly affordable prices in cities like Mumbai and New Delhi, where the costs of basic 1-2 BHK apartments have also blown way out of proportion. While it has become increasingly difficult to afford housing in these cities, there are several other cities that provide more affordable housing in India, as well as good employment opportunities.   

Cities with the most affordable housing in India

Noida  

One of the most preferred destinations of the NCR region, Noida provides several housing options depending on your affordability. The prices of 2 BHK flats around Greater Noida costs about Rs. 60 – 80 lakhs, depending on the housing project. The rates are likely to go up due to the proposed Jewar Airport in the city, but it would still remain a great housing option in terms of affordability.  

Gurgaon  

Gurgaon is another great option in the NCR region. Technically a part of Haryana, Gurgaon is another excellent choice for affordable housing in that region. It has high road connectivity that has further boosted commercial settlement over the last few years. 2 BHKs in this city generally cost around Rs. 35 – 60 lakhs, depending on the sector.  

Hyderabad  

Given that Banglaluru’s real estate prices have also been soaring due to its high demand in the IT sector, Hyderabad becomes a great place to explore if you’re looking for better housing options at lesser prices. Hyderabad has a vibrant transport system, including a well-connected metro network. The price of 2 BHK houses ranges from Rs. 60 to 80 lakhs in this city.  

Ahmedabad  

Despite being arguably the most vibrant city of Gujarat, Ahmedabad still manages to provide some of the most affordable housing options in the country. This city is considered one of India’s major growing economic hubs, bringing golden employment opportunities in various sectors. The price range of a decent 2 BHK house in Ahmedabad is around Rs. 50 to 70 lakhs.
