Chinese Drone Found in Amritsar

In an unexpected turn of events, a Chinese drone has been discovered by the security personnel in Amritsar. The Border Security Force and the Punjab police carried out a joint operation in the Nesta village of Amritsar on Sunday morning after they received intel about drone presence in the area, as per Republic. The recovered Chinese drone is the DJI Mavic 3 Classic model, which is a quadcopter drone. This recovery is yet another example of China’s indirect support to Pakistani infiltration in Punjab and other bordering states.

Pakistan–backed terror groups are known to infiltrate drugs and weapons across the Punjab and LoC border areas to raise terror funding that ultimately leads to attacks in the country. These terror groups have lately adopted the drone infiltration technique wherein they smuggle drugs, weapons, and sometimes cash for their local terror networks to carry out their activities using Chinese drones. Earlier this month, on November 1, the security forces had caught such a drone in another village in the Amritsar district, which contained 3 kgs of heroin. The BSF and Punjab police remain on guard to monitor this heightened drone infiltration activity from Pakistan.
