Many fitness enthusiasts are emphasising the need to routinely have cheat meals rather than stick to extreme diets for longer durations. They believe that timely cheat meals are important for a sustainable diet, as a gruelling diet followed without any cheat meals can be mentally tiring and force the person to give up. However, it is also important to understand that to ensure minimum damage of cheat meals to your health, you must consume them at the right time.
According to health experts, the best time to have your cheat meals is after you work out, preferably before 6 pm. The scientific reason behind this claim is that the glucose of whatever food you consume after your workout goes into building your muscles, and you thus don’t have to worry about putting on fat. Furthermore, your body’s metabolism significantly drops after 6 pm, which is why it would be best that you go for your preferred junk food before 6 pm for minimum damage to your health. Additionally, it will serve you best if you do a little brisk walking after your meal for better digestion.
