CAA Implemented: BJP strikes a Fatal Blow to those in support of the OutCasts!

The nationwide implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) is anticipated to be officially announced on Monday, as per sources informed Republic TV. During the Republic Summit 2024 on March 7, Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed that the rules governing the Citizenship (Amendment) Act of 2019 would be finalized before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. “CAA will be enacted before the Lok Sabha elections. It’s the nation’s law, and no one can impede it,” Shah asserted in a conversation with Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami. The CAA aims to confer Indian nationality upon persecuted non-Muslim migrants – including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians – from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who arrived in India by December 31, 2014.

Simultaneously, the entire Uttar Pradesh Police force has been placed on alert regarding the CAA, with off-duty personnel being called back, as per familiar sources. Enacted by the Narendra Modi government, the CAA extends Indian nationality to persecuted non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who entered India before December 31, 2014.

Following the passage of the CAA by Parliament in December 2019 and subsequent presidential approval, various parts of the country witnessed significant protests. Over the past two years, more than 30 district magistrates and home secretaries across nine states have been empowered to grant Indian citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, Afghani, Bangladeshis, and Pakistan Christians under the Citizenship Act of 1955.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs annual report for 2021-22, between April 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, a total of 1,414 individuals from these non-Muslim minority communities in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan were granted Indian citizenship through registration or naturalization under the Citizenship Act, 1955. The nine states where Indian citizenship through registration or naturalization is facilitated for non-Muslim minorities from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Gujarat.
