Budget 2024: Focus on Upskilling Women and Youth

Budget 2024 marks the final national budget of Bharat before the nation swings into election mode. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in the new parliament building, wherein she laid emphasis on the upskilling of youth, women, and the marginalized. She said during her speech, “Our young country has high aspirations, pride in its present, and hope and confidence for a bright future. We expect that our government, based on its stupendous work, will be blessed again by the people with a resounding mandate.”

She further continued, “Our government will adopt economic policies that foster and sustain growth, facilitate inclusive and sustainable development, improve productivity, create opportunities for all, help them enhance their capabilities, and contribute to the generation of resources to power investments and fulfill aspirations.” Various eminent personalities from the tech world have suggested that the government should create a separate budget for boosting Artificial Intelligence development in the country.

FM Sitharaman has also pushed for solar utilization in Budget 2024 by restating PM Modi’s announcement of solar rooftops for 1 crore households, which will not only save energy consumption but also helping families save Rs.15,000 to 18,000 annually by providing them free electricity for up to 300 units per month.
