BSF Jawan Injured After Unprovoked Firing from Pak Rangers
In their third ceasefire violation in 24 days, Pakistani Rangers opened fire, injuring a BSF jawan along the international border. This incident reportedly took place in the Ramgarh sector of the Jammu region. A senior official confirmed that the injured BSF jawan was immediately rushed to the local hospital for treatment, as per PTI. The BSP said in his statement, “During the intervening night of November 8-9, 2023, Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing in Ramgarh area, which was befittingly responded to by the BSF troops.”
A local villager stated that the firing began at about 12.20 am, which further escalated into a big shelling. The Pakistani Rangers had previously violated the ceasefire on October 17 and then on October 28, which injured four jawans and a woman. There have been several such ceasefire violations from the Pakistani side on the international border as well as the Line of Control. However, these unprovoked firings are responded to in equal measure by the BSF and the Indian Army along the LoC.
