BJP Refuses to Form Alliance With Akali Dal in 2024 Polls

The BJP has set its eyes on the 2024 elections and is making major changes within their party to make sure that they come back to power with a convincing majority, just like they did in the 2014 and 2019 elections. While they have retained most of their alliance partners in their NDA government going into the 2024 polls, they have also lost some along the way; and one of them is Shiromani Akali Dal. Speculations have been recently arising that claim that Akali Dal may join forces again with the BJP, but the latter has denied this claim.

Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, who is also Punjab BJP’s unit head, has confirmed that they will be fighting the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Punjab on their own. “In the upcoming 2024 elections, the BJP will contest the election under the leadership of PM Modi, BJP will form a government in Delhi (Centre) for the third time, and in Punjab also, BJP will fight elections alone and perform well in the 13 parliamentary constituencies,” he said to ANI. The Lok Sabha elections are likely to take place around May next year, wherein BJP will be led by PM Narendra Modi once again as the Prime Ministerial candidate.
