BJP Declares Bhajan Lal Sharma as Raj. CM in a Surprising Move
BJP has finally ended the anticipation of their Rajasthan CM choice by naming MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma as their final choice. Their decision to skip their previous CM face, Vasundhara Raje, has come as a surprise to the political fraternity, who is a first-time MLA. In this election, he had defeated his constituency rival from Congress, Pushpendra Bhardwaj, by a colossal margin of 48,000 votes before being unexpectedly selected as the Chief Minister by their party leadership.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP leaders Vasundhara Raje, Saroj Pandey, Vinod Tawde, and others were present as the central observers of this selection. Bhajan Lal Sharma thanked PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a public statement and thanked them for their “trust and support.” He also promised the citizens of Rajasthan that he would “strive to meet their expectations.” While Madhya Pradesh CM-elect Mohan Yadav and Chhattisgarh’s CM-elect Vishnu Deo Sai will be taking their oaths today, Sharma will be called on to take his oath in the coming days.
