Biden administration to deploy 1500 active-duty troops to U.S. – Mexico border

The Joe Biden administration has decided to ramp up military deployment on the U.S. – Mexico border to counter one of the major problems in the U.S.A. today – illegal Mexican immigration. Its political and security establishment has struggled with this security issue for decades, given the rampant drug problems that it has caused. As per Associated Press Television News, the U.S. is expecting a massive migrant surge in the coming months and has thus made this deployment on the border areas.  

Several reports have shown a huge surge in people suffering and even succumbing to a new kind of drug called ‘fentanyl’. Illegal migration has further caused the spread of this drug and has put thousands of American lives at stake, which has forced the U.S. government to take this drastic measure. Along with security, the deployed military personnel will also be responsible for verification, data entry, and other related administrative tasks. In addition to this, American and Mexican government officials have also signed an agreement on revised immigration policies to control and regulate border entries.
