Bharat Contributing 16% of Global Economic Growth Today: IMF
Top economic institutions like IMF have been analysing the trends of global economic growth amid the current slowdown that the world is experiencing today. Nada Choueri, who is the Mission to India in the International Monetary Fund, has expressed the institution’s confidence in Bharat’s growth, stating the nation’s contribution to the global economic growth at a commendable 16%. She said, “It’s one of the fastest-growing large emerging markets, and it’s contributing, in our current projections, more than 16 percent of global growth this year.”
However, Nada also highlighted that the labour potential in the country hadn’t been properly utilized yet and that Bharat’s contribution to global economic growth will only take a leap if proactive measures are taken to do so. “India has in abundance labour. And Labour is not used to its potential in India. And so, in our view, there has to be a very concerted effort to make sure that the advantages and demographics in India are played up to the maximum,” she said.
